Meet Felipe
I am deeply rooted in the Irvine community because I originally moved here in 1969, almost two years before the city of Irvine was founded. My wife and I are graced by God with two children who are currently enrolled in the first charter school in Irvine. I serve as a Board Member at their school, Irvine International Academy, where I get firsthand exposure to public school operations and curriculum standards. I currently live in a modest home in the Woodbridge community where I also serve as a Board Member for the Woodbridge Village Master Homeowners Association.
My parents legally immigrated to the United State from Mexico when they were 18 years old and soon became US citizens. I was born in Santa Ana, Ca in 1961 and lived there until we moved to Irvine. They taught me many lessons all based on conservative values. I attribute all my successes to believing in God, hard work, love for family and friends, and respect for all people. Together with my Chinese American wife, we share the same principles and use our moral compass as the guide for raising our own children.
Professionally, I’ve developed project management, implementation, and communication skills from a 45-year career working for a global engineering and construction company (Fluor Corporation). In both my public service and professional roles, I have a proven track record of solving problems and project execution with care and dedication.
I speak English and Spanish. My interests include skiing, basketball, Muay Thai, building model rockets, welding, residential and automotive repair, and now public service.
I ask for your vote so that I can apply the many professional skills learned over my lifetime, to continuing the success of Irvine, the city and people that I care for the most.
